TRENT - OWNER & LEAD STYLIST
As a young boy growing up in Indiana, Trent Edward Sutton channeled his early artistic energies toward the usual teen-angsty outlets: alternative rock, art and skateboarding. Fast forward to 2002, and Trent found himself far from home, on the sun-baked shores of San Diego. Looking for a practical way to spin his creative passion, he enrolled in cosmetology school. "I instantly fell in love with hair styling," Trent says. "The fusion of color, shape and texture fascinated me. Making clients look and feel great was such a rush. I was hooked."
"Working with others who share my interest in healthy, beautiful hair is a great inspiration," Trent says. "Seeing other people's work keeps me motivated and creative."
In Trent’s free time he enjoys skateboarding and spending time with his wife and dog.
RACHEL - STYLIST
Rachel is a Bay Area native, moving to Oregon over 15 years ago. She started her career in early childhood education. Knowing she always wanted to attend cosmetology school, she took a break from teaching and enrolled at Beau Monde Accademy of Cosmetology. Upon graduating; Rachel started working at a salon, while continuing teaching on her days off. Rachel is with us full time and has been a stylist for over 15 years. She has been with Trent Edward Salon since we opened in 2010. She is your go-to for fun color and cuts and special occasion styles. She is L'Oreal Expert Network certified and trained through L'Oreal Professionnel for color and Balayage. Rachel continued her education with Kevin Murphy and is a Session stylist.
When Rachel is not in the salon, she enjoys cooking, traveling with her husband and step-kids, and visiting her parents in Sisters, OR.

STEPH - STYLIST
Steph tried the conventional college route and found herself uninspired. Finding her way, she attended Paul Mitchell the School of Portland and became part of their advanced student programs. Upon graduation, Steph explored a couple salons before finding her home here at Trent Edward Salon. She has been with the team since 2016, starting out as Trent's assistant for the first year. Steph has been trained with L'Oreal Prefessionnel in their Expert Network courses. She has a knack for highlights, rich brunette's and hair cutting.
In her free time Steph enjoys wine tasting, playing with the pups in her life, and visiting Manzanita, OR.

KRIS - STYLSIT
Kris has been in the industry for over 30 years, working behind the chair in more than 5 states. While she began her career in Portland, she is recently back to the area and we are so thrilled to have her on our team.
Kris has been a color specialist for the majority of her career, specializing in beautiful natural colors and blondes.
Kris is also a traveling stylist, going to Austin, TX once a month.

BROOKE- STYLIST
Brooke was born and raised in Oregon. She has always wanted to attend cosmetology school, but started off with the more conventional college route by attending the University of Oregon and graduated with a degree in Family and Human Services. She graduated from the Bella Institute and assisted Trent. Brooke has been with our salon since summer of 2022. Brooke is currently taking new clients!
In her free time Brooke enjoys playing tennis, finding new recipes to cook, puzzling and traveling with friends and family.

KRISSY - STYLIST
Krissy joined the TES team in 2020. After graduating college at OSU in 2009 and working in the mental health field, she felt a desire to have a more expressive career and outlet. Krissy started her career locally in 2013 where she graduated from Bella Institute of Cosmetology.
Upon graduation she completed an advanced training apprenticeship along with extensive education in cutting and styling techniques. Specializing in blondes and consistency, she is passionate about foiling, creative cutting, and client/stylist relationship.
Krissy believes in educating clients in product knowledge and proper tool use to recreate their desired look at home. Her goal behind the chair is for everyone to leave feeling confident, renewed, and understood.
MADDY - JR STYLIST
Maddy joined the TES team in Spring of 2023. A graduate of Bella Institute of Cosmetology, she finds passion in creating low-maintenance color looks with a love for seamless custom extensions. She began her career through the apprenticeship at Trent Edward Salon, assisting under Trent. She has since been working on the floor and currently accepting new clients.
Outside of the salon, Maddy finds inspiration in cooking, spending time outdoors, and enjoying time with her family.

JILLIAN - APPRENTICE
Jillian joined the TES team in September of 2025. Having graduated from Bella Institute of Cosmetology, she is currently apprenticing Trent continuing her education and refining her skills behind the chair. She loves helping a client feel and look their best - and she especially loves creating a beautiful updo now and then!
When she’s not at the salon, Jillian enjoys cooking, relaxing with a good book, and spending time at church and with her family.
